Course description

The research group is concerned with the evolution of depositional systems and landscape to structurally imposed constraints, and with diagenetic processes. Petroleum geoscience research is a growth area involving 3D seismic interpretation of departmental systems reservoir characterisation and outcrop modelling. The research is focused on integrated studies coupling sequence stratigraphy, structural geology and sedimentary geochemistry and is split 60:40 between outcrop/modelling work and subsurface studies.

Their research incorporates all aspects of the coupled sedimentary basin - landscape system, from source to sink and from micro- to macro-scales.
