Course Description

This 12 month taught postgraduate programme is one degree within the Environmental Management Programme (EMP) run jointly with the School of Civil Engineering and the Environment. The umbrella (EMP) programme delivers a portfolio of postgraduate degrees within the Environmental Sciences and is supported by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

This MSc introduces graduate students with science or engineering backgrounds to basic concepts in marine science, which are then augmented by an understanding and application of resource management issues. Close relationships with stakeholders and employers ensure that you will be exposed to employment opportunities and career progression from the outset.

Entry requirements

Upper second-class BSc honours degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline (biology, chemistry, Earth and environmental sciences, engineering, mathematics, oceanography, physics)
A solid background in mathematics at undergraduate level
Familiarity with computers
