Course Description
Recent students on this flexible, student-centred programme include nurses, midwives and physiotherapists. Nurses who have studied appropriate modules will be able to achieve the draft competences defined by the NMC for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Pathway options are: Cancer Care; Child and Adolescent Mental Health; Critical Care; Long-Term Conditions; Midwifery; Neonatal Studies; Palliative Care; Specialist Practice Community Nursing; Standard; and Urgent Care.
Programme structure
The MSc normally comprises six 20-credit, or one 40-credit and four 20-credit modules at master’s level, plus a 60-credit dissertation. You will be required to undertake three core modules common to all pathways (Evidence-based practice, Transition to advanced practice and the dissertation), plus a number of other modules, depending on your chosen pathway. You may choose to exit the programme at an earlier stage, with either a PG Cert (60 credits) or a PG Dip (120 credits). You may also enrol to undertake the PG Certificate or PG Diploma.
