Course Description

This programme supports the development of advanced practice skills, research skills, critical appraisal abilities and clinical reasoning. They aim to develop your initiative and commitment to lifelong learning in the context of ever-changing health and social care systems.

Programme Structure

MSc students complete a number of taught core (compulsory) modules, taught optional modules, and a dissertation module. The modules in the programme have been selected and designed to equip health care professionals to:

  • acquire and apply knowledge and research skills
  • improve their interpersonal skills thereby improving therapeutic relationships with their patients or clients
  • evaluate their care and services
  • teach in practice and disseminate their research or ideas
  • and optionally gain specific clinical skills

Entry requirements

  • Upper second-class honours degree in a relevant discipline from an approved higher education institution (a lower second-class degree or other appropriate qualifications will be considered, e.g. diploma in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, nursing, speech and language therapy, medicine or psychology)
  • if you do not have an honours degree you will be expected
  • to demonstrate evidence of advanced studies
