Educational requirements: Higher education degree in one of the health professions in native country at level equivalent to that of Dutch degrees.
Objectives: Understand and critically evaluate the theoretical and empirical literature, in particular as it relates to education for the health professions; design, plan and implement a relevant course for health professionals based on rational principles of learning and instruction; design, plan and implement an adequate evaluation and assessment strategy; etc
Subjects: Learning and cognition; curriculum and constructionl; assessment and evaluation; organisation and management; basics of research in education: methods and techniques; advanced research in education: methods and techniques; design of authentic learning environments; professional development of teachers; research or design project: Master thesis.
Modes of instruction: Two units with a campus-based section are wedged in between distance education units. The campus-based sections are especially intended for skills training and workshops. They are also meant to provide a view on the content of the units that are still to come. The programme is concluded with a presentation and group discussion of the Master Thesis followed by the graduation ceremony.
