The research school encourages independent research by students in different fields including viruses, bacteria, protozoa and parasites. Different approaches such as molecular, cellular, and organismal biology as well as genetics, immunology and biochemistry are used to study the biodiversity of infection. The strength of the programme is the diversity of the labs involved and the wide array of state-of-the-art techniques provided.
Applicants must hold a Master, a German Diploma or equivalent degree in biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, chemistry, or other related subjects. It is not necessary to hold the degree at the time of application. However, you must have been awarded your degree prior to the enrollment into the program.
