Systems biology has been recognized as a powerful approach to solve biological questions at various levels and to come to quantitative descriptions of biological behaviour, structure and evolution.
The Master's programme in Systems Biology reflects the broad research area of this field, processed in courses that integrate the following disciplines:
By now, systems biology has been recognized both by academia and industry as an essential approach to many, if not all, biological questions and applications related to the living cell. Many of its constituents, from biochemistry to molecular and cell biology to computing and bioinformatics are expertises needed by universities and by companies, but the added value of a training that integrates them all results in excellent career perspectives.
The programme in Systems Biology welcomes students with a bachelor background in chemistry, biology, informatics, mathematics or physics. Applications will be reviewed by the exam committee for students with backgrounds that are not considered evidently suitable.
Additional entry requirements for international students
Applicants must also fulfil the general entry requirements set by the Faculty of Science regarding academic background, academic average and proficiency in English. For more information on the application procedure, please follow this link.
