The Ph.D. in Neuroscience is based on completion of graduate course work, qualifying examination, research, and a dissertation and defense.
For the Ph.D. programme applicants must hold a Masters, Diploma or equivalent degree in biology, chemistry, electrical engineering, mathematics, psychology, or other related fields which includes an experimental thesis. Medical students must hold the equivalent of a MD.
Candidates will prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of Neuroscience (project duration: 3 years).

The study programme includes a semester-wide Neuroscience Lecture "From Molecules to Cognition", verbal and written thesis proposals, progress reports and a final report, semester-wide lecture series with external speakers, annual workshops and special symposia, course in grant writing and technical training.
