Objectives: They are trained as fully-fledged academics, able to solve complex academic problems independently, critically and creatively and to report on the results with clarity both orally and in writing. Much attention is paid to the development of theories on historical processes, argumentation, historiography and methodology of historical research.
Subjects: Specialisations: ancient history; history of migrants and cities in a changing world; history of the European expansion and globalisation; medieval and early modern European history; political culture and national identities.
Modes of instruction: Lectures, seminars, research projects, master's thesis and field work.
