Language requirements: TOEFL (minimum score: 570/230); IELTS (minimum score: 6.5)

Objectives: Students gain thorough knowledge of the field and its key terminology, its research methods and current debates. Students are also trained to collect, study and assess secondary literature and original sources. They are able to formulate clear and well-founded research hypotheses and to offer a substantiated analysis of their findings.

Specialisations: ancient history; medieval history; modern and contemporary history; Dutch history; economic and social history.
Thematic tracks: American history; history of the European expansion and global interaction; history of European migration and ethnicity; military history; maritime history.

Modes of instruction: Lectures, seminars, research projects, master's thesis.
