Course details

Events are at the centre of regeneration projects worldwide but they are also at the heart of many organisation's commercial activities. Such a successful industry clearly needs an increasing supply of event professionals to ensure its long term success and profitability. This degree produces graduates able to offer the industry a wide range of knowledge and skills, provide professionally managed events and satisfy a broad range of stakeholders.

Career and progression opportunities

Whether you are interested in being a music festival co-ordinator, want to be involved in an international fundraising gala or to use your extensive language skills to organise international conventions then this is the course for you. Typical graduate opportunities will exist in sectors such as music and arts festivals, fundraising for international events, conference and exhibitions and global sporting events.

Entry requirements

  • A-levels: BBC (typically translates to 280 points in the UCAS tariffualifications.) Applicants with only 2 full A-levels or a double award will be considered on an individual basis.
  • ND/C (Level 3): MMM.
  • International Baccalaureate: 28 points.
  • QAA-approved access course: acceptable; subject-specific units.
  • GCSE (minimum grade C): at least 3 subjects including English language and mathematics.
  • Foundation degree/HND/HNC: possible transfer to years 2 or 3. Contact the course team for specific requirements.
  • For non-native speakers of English: IELTS 6.0 overall, 6.0 in writing (or equivalent qualification).
