Human Resources Management is essential to business success and its importance in today’s corporate environment is reflected in the number of senior and board level appointments with a HRM background.
The BA (Hons) Human Resource Management allows you to focus your studies on the ‘people’ dimension of business and management. It is well established that in the competitive environment of 21st century business, people represent the most potent opportunities for achieving competitive advantage.
The programme shares some common modules with other programmes in the Business School, but offers specialist HRM content. The structure of the programme is flexible, allowing you to switch between full and part time modes of study – with a limited number of modules being offered in the evening. Assessment is through a combination of exams, tests and coursework. You have an optional year of work placement between years 2 and 3, as well as a chance to study a semester at a partner institution in Europe.
These include a huge variety of industries including retail, banking and finance, local and national government, industry, training and education providers and the NHS. Graduates may also progress to a MBA or Masters degree or take professional qualifications within the HRM or business sector.
