Introduction

The aim of this course is to provide you with an understanding of the employment/human resource issues affected by social inequalities and encourages a critical appreciation of the dynamics of diversity among employees.

You will develop the skills and competencies to manage a diverse work force and then build on that diversity to enhance organisational effectiveness. You will be equipped to recognise and understand the barriers facing managers within a diverse workforce and to make appropriate suggestions and develop suitable programmes to help top management, team members and colleagues to overcome such barriers and capitalize on the strengths of a diverse workforce so that their organisation achieves its full potential in a global economy.

The course will enable you to build a body of practical skills and theoretical knowledge - from the operational through the tactical to the strategic – around diversity issues impacting upon the management of organisations and then to apply this knowledge to management problems and situations that affect professional practice.
