The Master's programme covers two terms equalling one year. Eventually it will be expanded to two years (four terms). The first term starts regularly in mid-October and lectures end in mid-February. The second term starts in mid-April and lectures end in mid-July.

It is a one-year Master's programme divided into two semester. The various courses are combined to form six modules in total, three per semester. The modules are based on three thematic core areas:

  1. European Studies
    • two basic courses, "History and Development of European Institutions" and "European Economic and Labour Law", form Module A in the first semester while the two courses, "European Social Policy" and "Selected Areas of European Social and Labour Law" form Module D in the second semester
  2. Labour Relations and Organisational Development
    • Module B in the first semester comprises the courses "Foundations of Labour Relations and Organisational Development" and "Case Studies and Problem Solving Processes", related to basic issues in the above context; Module E in the second semester consists of the courses "Labour Relations and Organisational Development in Europe" and "Case Studies and Problem Solving Processes" [with a focus on comparative analysis]
  3. Workers' Health and Health Promotion in Europe
    • the courses "Foundations of Workers' Health and Health Promotion" and respective "Case Studies and Problem Solving Processes" form Module C in the first semester; Module F in the second semester comprises the courses "Workers' Health and Health Promotion in Europe" and "Case Studies and Problem Solving Processes" [with a focus on comparative analysis]

Modules A, B and C in the first semester are taught in German or English, while Modules D, E and F in the second semester will be taught in English. In order to offer a broader range of topics, guest lecturers are invited from abroad.
