The Information Technology Management for Business programme is specifically designed to develop the mix of skills and capabilities required by today's leading businesses. The programme builds on successful UWE programmes such as the BA(Hons) Business Information Systems. It has been developed in conjunction with e-skills UK, the Government's Sector Skills Council for IT, Telecommunications and Contact Centres, working in close collaboration with such companies as BT, CA, Ford, Fujitsu, HP, IBM, Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley and Norwich Union. UWE has been selected to run the course here in the South West.
The course is based on three fundamental learning outcomes:
If you want to pursue a career in the business management of IT, then this course is for you! It provides the personal skills and business/IT knowledge that leading companies require; you can expect your career to take off immediately. You could enjoy an outstanding career in management or consultancy roles within the IT and Telecommunications industries, or within IT Departments of many large companies. You will also have an inside track to a career with one of the sponsoring companies.
Access: Achievement of the Access to HE Diploma; achievement of level 2 credits in Maths and English Language
English Language requirements: All students will have a recognised English Language qualification of at least GCSE grade C or an equivalent such as the British Council's International English Language Test (IELTS) grade 6.0.
