About the programme

The Master of Science in Communications Engineering program at the Technische Universität München is a two-year high-level International Graduate Program of the Dept. of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Participants hold a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent) and have international background. The Program is taught entirely in English.

Communications technology is a rapidly growing field changing the face of society everywhere in the world. Increasingly, high-quality information and communication systems are becoming a prime requirement for economic success as well as the foundation for further social development. Many fascinating innovations, such as multimedia, mobile phones, digital cameras or the World Wide Web are conquering the market.

Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission, candidates must have earned a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in electrical engineering and/or information technology from a well-known university or college.

TOEFL: If your native language is not English you are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and enclose a certified copy of your test results with your application. The TOEFL is offered several times a year in test centers around the world. The minimum TOEFL score required for admission is 83(iBT) 220(CBT) or 560(PBT). Their TOEFL institution code is 7806 (TU-München) and department code 66 (Electrical Engineering). English proficiency can also be demonstrated by successful completion of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS, minimum: 6.0).
