Course description

Successful participants of the study program „Digital Communications“, who acquired the degree of a Master of Science, have a solid knowledge in the fields of information and communication engineering (signals, systems, information) as well as digital telecommunication technology (coding, modulation, statistics, cryptology). Beyond, they possess a fundamental knowledge in numerous applications of digital communications, e. g., optical, satellite, or multi-media communications.

Admission requirments

Formal requirements:

  • High School diploma (equivalent to the german "Abitur").
  • The admission of a student requires: An academic degree, qualifying for engineering professions in electrical engineering and information technology and at least corresponding to
    • a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering/information technology from a university or
    • a Diploma or Master's degree in electrical engineering/information technology of a Polytechnique or a Bachelor's degree in digital communications at a Polytechnique, if the final grading is considerably above the average requirements

Language requirements:

  • Good knowledge of the English Language!
    • A TOEFL-Test with score 550 (paper based test), score 213 (computer based test) or score 80 (internet based test) is required. The TOEFL Institutinal Code of the Faculty is: 8638; ETS: The TOEFL® Test - Test of English as a Foreign Language.
    • Cambridge Proficiency Certificate
