Course Description
This ESRC-recognised programme comprises two elements: an opportunity to investigate current debates on the nature of citizenship and governance, and broad training in social science methods. Successful ESRC-funded students will be eligible for a further three years’ funding for PhD research.
Programme Structure
Compulsory modules
- Citizenship, democracy and political theory
- Qualitative methods
- Researching politics and international relations
- Statistical data analysis
- Survey design methods
Two optional modules from:
- A wide range in either the Politics and International Relations or the Sociology and Social Policy division
And
- Dissertation
Entry requirements
- Upper second-class honours degree or equivalent
