Educational requirements: Bachelor's degree in English Language or Literature or equivalent in a relevant field.
Language requirements: TOEFL (minimum score: 650)
Objectives: Students acquire solid expertise in one of the following fields: English (historical) linguistics; English and/or American literature. The MA programme aims to develop a critical reflective and scholarly attitude. Students will acquire the knowledge and skills needed tot design and conduct scientific research independently.
Subjects: Modern linguistics; language change; old and middle English; Victorian studies; 20th century English literature (British drama, British novel and poetry); 20th and 21th century American and Canadian literature; literature and culture of racial and ethnic minorities in North American society.
Modes of instruction: Lectures, workshops, class discussion, oral presentations, multimedia assignments, individual instruction.
