Educational requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as linguistics, communication studies, or a modern language.
Language requirements: TOEFL (minimum score: 600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based)); IELTS (minimum score: 6.5)
Other requirements: Average score 7.5 in 2nd and 3rd year of a Dutch Bachelor’s programme, equivalent in non-Dutch; Bachelor’s thesis: 8; talent for scientific research.
Objectives: To educate students to become skilled empirical linguists with a deep understanding of language and communication.
Subjects: Communication and information sciences; language and speech technology; language variation and acquisition; the theory and structure of language.
Modes of instruction: Seminars, lectures, internships.
