The interdisciplinary M.A. "Language Technology and Foreign Language Learning and Teaching" (Master "Sprachtechnologie und Fremdsprachendidaktik"/ MSF) is jointly run by the Institute of Computational Linguistics and by the linguistics and didactics sections of the English, German, Romanic, and Slavic institutes. The Master's programme is based on state-of-the-art international research and addresses subjects such as E-Learning, the role of digital media for language learning and teaching, and computational and corpus linguistic approaches to foreign language acquisition.
The Master's programme consists of the following modules:
- Foreign Language Teaching and Learning
- Language Technology and Computational Linguistics
- Language Technology and Foreign Language Teaching and Learning (module and project)
- Language System and Language Functions
- Project in Text and Hypertext Linguistics
- Master's thesis
Successful graduates of this degree course will be able to:
- Establish and support multimedia learning centres in public or private educational institutions.
- Develop, evaluate and implement learning software.
- Evaluate and further develop existing learning environments as well as conceptualise and implement new environments.
