The Master's degree course in Translatology prepares students for a professional occupation in the field of specialist intercultural communication in practical applications, teaching or research. Students can choose either a more research-oriented emphasis (Applied Linguistics) or a more application-oriented emphasis (Specialised Translation).
The target of the course is to acquire
- the necessary methodological knowledge
- abilities and skills in the fields of translatology

- terminology and specialist translation
- enabling students
- to analyse specialist texts, interpret their content correctly in the language of origin and transfer them to the target language with due consideration of all translation-relevant internal and external text factors, ensuring the desired quality and using suitable technical aids,
- to handle translation projects with due orientation to practice and standards,
- to steer and assess translation quality.
