The programme consists of two compulsory courses: International Business Law and Conflict of Laws: International Arbitration and Litigation. Next to these compulsory courses, you will choose a number of optional courses, related to the specialisation chosen. If you are aiming for a general LL.M. in Business, Corporate and Maritime Law you may choose courses out of all optional courses offered within the programme.

Career opportunities for students with a specialisation in Business Transactions can be found in business consultancy as company lawyers, as legal advisors and as attorneys in commercial practice.
Students of this specialisation will find their career as a lawyer in financial markets and international institutions as well as company lawyers and consultants in these fields. The job perspectives are very good.
The Maritime Law specialisation is structured to equip graduates who wish to pursue careers in international transportation with the ability to serve in advisory positions to governments, in legal departments of shipping companies, ports authorities, as well as in the specialised field of maritime law litigation and arbitration.
In addition, students applying for Business, Corporate and Maritime Law must have a law degree that gives access to the judicial profession.
In addition, students applying for International and European Public Law must have completed (Bachelor) courses in European Law (note: students who do not possess knowlegde in this field will be assigned specific literature to be read prior to the start of the programme) and Public International Law.
