Course description
The specialisation Commercial Law aims at providing insight to and increasing the knowledge of students with regard to legal aspects of doing business in an international setting. Special attention is given also to the influence of EU Law. Based in the port of Rotterdam, this programme educates legal professionals that are to become well versed in commercial, company and labour law
Career prospects
Commercial law is an excellent start for a successful (international) career! You will have acquired extensive knowledge in company and commercial law, have relevant skills to do business in an international setting and be able to apply different perspectives. Graduates will be well placed in law firms or law courts, in the academic and business world (e.g. in industry, commerce and transport) or in various other sectors of the economy (such as banking, insurance and financial markets) where issues related to business companies and commercial relations play an important part.
Admission requirements
Law degree
They require a law degree from a recognised university for all programmes.
- In addition, students applying for Business, Corporate and Maritime Law must have a law degree that gives access to the judicial profession.
- In addition, students applying for International and European Public Law must have completed (Bachelor) courses in European Law and Public International Law.
English Language Proficiency
- They require a minimum IELTS score of 6.5, or TOEFL score of 90
- Students with a first or second degree with the English language as medium of instruction (please submit proof) do not have to submit a TOEFL or IELTS test report.
- Applicants from China are advised to take the British Councils’ Language Test (IELTS). Chinese students are also eligible to use TOEFL iBT scores to apply for the Neso Certificate.
