The MA programme in Conflict Studies and Human Rights explores violent conflict and its causes, conditions and consequences. The focus of analysis is predominantly conflicts within states, and also examines the widespread violation of human rights, now a systematic instrument of war, in many contemporary conflicts.
The MA programme in Conflict Studies and Human Rights at the Faculty of Humanities offers a curriculum of multidisciplinary core courses that may be complemented with elective courses from other Utrecht University faculties and departments and other universities in the Netherlands and abroad. This flexibility enables students to compose an academic profile suited to their specific interests and career goals.
Educational requirements: BA with preferably 30 ECTS in conflict studies/human rights courses. Must have taken courses that have a link to the field of conflict studies.
Language requirements: TOEFL (minimum score: 580 (paper test) or 237 (computer test).); IELTS (minimum score: 6.5 (6.0 for the written module).), Cambridge EFL Advanced English: B; Cambridge EFL Proficiency in English: C.
