Whether you see yourself as a defender of human rights, a high-flying corporate lawyer for a multinational, or someone who helps make the laws, a International Bachelor of Laws - International and European Law will prepare you for a legal career on a global scale.
The International Bachelor of Law Programme is especially designed for those who aspire to a career as a legal professional in the world of international (including European) cooperation and in the area of international peace and justice. You can work as a self-employed legal professional or be engaged by businesses, non-governmental organisations, international organisations, European Union institutions, and governments. For those who wish to practice law in a national jurisdiction, e.g. as an attorney-at-law, a barrister or a judge, local university law programmes are more appropriate.
If you have a non-Dutch diploma
They’ll need to assess your secondary school certificate, before they decide on your eligibility. To make sure your certificate is judged fairly, they work together with NUFFIC, an organisation specialised in comparing international qualifications.
One of the eligibility criteria is that you have at least one of the following subjects: mathematics, economics, or business studies.
English language skills
In case you do not hold an English secondary school diploma (diploma granted in a non EEA country) or you have not taken English as an exam subject (diploma granted in the EEA) prior to your enrolment for an English Bachelor programme, you must show an IELTS or TOEFL test. Contrary to what Studielink tells you, you have to register for this test yourself.
Scores
The minimum overall band score for the IELTS test (academic version) for all English Bachelor programmes is a 6.0. For the TOEFL test a minimum score of 550 (paper based version), 213 (computer based version) or 80 (internet based version) is required. An IELTS or TOEFL test is valid for two years. The test must be valid at the start of the academic year.
