A strong understanding of International Commercial Law is undoubtedly one of the most sought after attributes of modern legal practice. With the growth in international trade and commerce, law firms, business enterprises and governmental organisations place a very high premium on graduates with commercial law skills.
This course offers you the opportunity to explore and study this very exciting and vibrant area of law, covering a wide range of important subjects including international sales, banking, corporate law, private international law, commercial arbitration, international taxation, international economic law, maritime law, EU business law, competition law, e-commerce and intellectual property. In addition to a strong academic emphasis, they also take a highly practical and professional approach to the subject, offering you grounding both in legal and commercial skills.
The course gives you a deep understanding of the context and application of international commercial law. You receive academic support to achieve a sound appreciation of the substantive legal principles in international commercial law and to develop appropriate legal, research and communication skills. The location of the University is ideal for studying international commercial law. Important legal and commercial institutions such as the Royal Courts, the Houses of Parliament, the Stock Exchange, and other exchanges in the City of London are all close to the School of Law.
