The programme will be attractive to students with an interest in legal reform and policy-making in developing and transition economies. It is also appropriate to those seeking careers in development agencies and NGOs with a developing country focus.

The Law and Development programme is an activity of the Institute for Law, Economy and Global Governance (InLEGGo) within The School of Law. Members of InLEGGo will teach on the Law and Development programme, and have carried out research by and been consultants to international organisations such as World Bank, USAID, European Union and EBRD.
Compulsory course units will include Law, Governance and Development and Economics For Lawyers, and other course units to be decided each year.
LL.M in Law and Development will typically offer optional course units in Human Rights Law; The Laws & Practice of International Banking & Finance; Sociology of Law; Corporations & International Business Law; and Comparative Corporate Governance (along with several other more generic optional course units).
Academic entry qualification overview: A minimum upper second class honours degree, or the equivalent, in law.
English language: Students whose first language is not English are required to hold IELTS 7.0 with a minimum writing score of 7, or TOEFL 106 internet-based, or Cambridge Certificate Grade C.
It is also recommended that applicants attend pre-sessional English language courses at the University.
