Course details
The programme is aimed both at professionals with specific ethical interests and students wishing to do advanced work in applied ethics. No previous familiarity with philosophy is assumed.
Everyone on the programme takes four core modules:
- Introduction to Philosophical Thinking
- Moral Thought and Practice
- Research Methods
- Research Ethics.
You then take two specialist modules, depending on which degree you are on.
Finally, you undertake a research project, supervised jointly by two members of staff, one from the core area, and the other from the appropriate option area. Here you bring together what you have learned so far to develop an extended argument in your specialist area.
Entry requirements
- For non-native speakers of English: IELTS 7.0 overall and 6.5 in writing.
- Degree and/or experience: Normally an undergraduate degree or equivalent. Appropriate accredited modules completed as part of other masters degrees, or their recognised equivalent, are taken into consideration.
