About the programme

The "Master of European Regulation of Network Industries" (MERNI) is a one-of-a-kind interdisciplinary postgraduate degree program organized by the Center for European Integration Studies (ZEI) at the University of Bonn.

MERNI is adedicated to the education of regulatory professionals for the network industries of electronic communications, energy, transport, water and postal services.

MERNI serves the increasing demand for highly skilled regulatory professionals which results from the processes of liberalization spurred by the European Union. In cooperation with leading network industry actors, public authorities and academic partners, MERNI provides its participants with the know-how, legal and management skills that are indispensable for a successful career both in private and public sectors alike, be it network companies, consultancies, financial institutions, regulatory authorities or industry and consumer associations.

Admission requirments

They shall possess a graduate degree from an institution of higher education, preferably in the field of law, economics, engineering, IT or political science, whereby the standard period of studies shall have comprised at least six semesters.

They shall prove their English language proficiency. The acceptance level corresponds to TOEFL score of 550 (alternatively 213 or 80 for a computer- based or internet-based TOEFL, respectively).
