Educational requirements: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Students with LLB who have completed 6 law courses at undergraduate level, including courses on public international law and/or European Union law.
Professional experience required: Some practical experience is recommended.
Language requirements: TOEFL (minimum score: internet based: 93); IELTS (minimum score: overall band: 6.5, writing: 6.0), Cambridge EFL Advanced English: B; Cambridge EFL Proficiency in English: C.
Other requirements: Basic knowledge of general public international law and of European Union law. Criteria include grade levels, motivations and references.
Objectives: This Master's programme aims to enhance students' knowledge and understanding of the State, international organisations, individual and other non-governmental actors, and their respective roles in international law today. It allows students to deepen their knowledge and understanding of international law, while allowing further specialization.
Subjects: Compulsory: theory of international law and organisation; international law moot court; thesis. Elective: International humanitarian law; international and European security law international law of human rights; international environmental law; international law of the sea; human rights in international relations; iternational criminal courts; status of international and European law in the national legal order.
Modes of instruction: Lectures, research, seminars, discussions, active participation. The student takes 2 required courses and 3 optional courses out of a predetermined list and writes a thesis.
