Objectives: To gain thorough knowledge into one of the specialisations offered, and in the development and social relevance of the field as a whole. Moreover to be able to independently gather literature and primary sources in the field, to evaluate their quality, to formulate clear and well-argued research questions and to report on the results of their research both orally and in writing.

Subjects: This programme covers a multitude of literary traditions from around the world. The following fields of study are all integrated into the courses which form the programme: literary theory; comparative literature; interculturality (cross-cultural approach) & intermediality (cross-mediatic approach).

Modes of instruction: Lectures, seminars, research projects, master's thesis.
