The MA in Literature and Philosophy provides an advanced programme of study for those interested in questions that arise at the intersection of the two disciplines. The core course addresses explicitly the question of the relation between philosophy and literature in contemporary thought. Three further courses are chosen from a range of options, which reflect the strong interdisciplinary character of the programme.
The MA is supported by research activities initiated by the Sussex Centre for Literature and Philosophy . In recent years this MA has offered courses in: Explorations in Philosophy and Literature (core course); Derrida; Phenomenology Continental Aesthetics; Power and Religion; Wittgenstein and Cavell: Literature and Scepticism
