About the programme

This multi-disciplinary programme provides a broad grounding in the nature, operations and theories of business and provides the skills to critically evaluate the often contradictory issues surrounding the contemporary business scene.

Business Management spans the major operations and theories of business, covering the ability to produce a product or service, management of resources and understanding the impact of external environments and market situations. This programme offers a ‘bigger picture’ approach and a high degree of flexibility, allowing you to switch to related specific Business School subject pathways in level 2 and focus on a particular area as you develop your skills and knowledge.

Career opportunities

These include industry and corporate fields, SMEs or business start-ups, government and voluntary sectors. Many of our graduates use their degree as the basis to start their own business. It also offers opportunities to move on to an MBA or Masters programme.

Admission requirments

• 200 UCAS tariff points or equivalent
• Pass in a recognised Access Course or International Foundation Programme
• In addition to the above, they require GCSE Maths grade C and English grade C or equivalents, unless competency is part of the qualification gained.
• They also welcome mature student applicants and those with relevant professional and vocational qualifications, and these will be dealt with on an individual basis and may require an interview.
• In the case of applicants whose first language is not English, then IELTS 5.5 overall (with 5.5 minimum for speaking and writing, and 5.0 for reading and listening) or equivalent is required.
