About the programme
This is a exciting degree from the Royal Docks Business School is designed to support future careers in the tourism and leisure industries. It has a strongly vocational emphasis, but also explores fundamental issues such as sustainability and economic growth and change.
The degree incorporates many established areas of business management, such as marketing and finance, but also focuses on strategic management, service and operations excellence.
Career opportunities
These include tourism management, research, planning, agency and promotion work. Sectors of direct relevance include airline, hotel, tour operators, catering, culture, heritage, and events, but this degree also presents opportunities within public and voluntary sectors in the UK and overseas. You may also use this degree to move on to an MBA or Masters degree programme.
Admission requirments
- 200 UCAS tariff points or equivalent
- Pass in a recognised Access Course or International Foundation Programme
- In addition to the above, they require GCSE Maths grade C and English grade C or equivalents, unless competency is part of the qualification gained.
- They also welcome mature student applicants and those with relevant professional and vocational qualifications, and these will be dealt with on an individual basis and may require an interview.
- Students that apply to enter Year 2 or 3 of the programme may be admitted through normal Accreditation of Experiential Learning (AEL) or Accreditation of Certificated Learning (ACL)) processes, or through an approved articulation agreement.
- In the case of applicants whose first language is not English, then IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) is required.
