This programme is ideal for those who are aspiring to become business managers. Like our BA(Hons) Business Studies programme it is designed to provide you with a comprehensive business education, however the key difference is that the BSc(Hons) Management focuses specifically on specialist management skills.
It will provide you with the opportunity to analyse and evaluate business organisations and to understand the way in which they operate. In addition you will learn to identify and analyse business problems and evaluate alternative solutions within the environments in which management operates. The course will focus on the three key areas of management: the management of people, the management of resources and the management of activities. There is a strong focus on the development not only of practical management skills and competencies, but also on the theory which underpins these.
Your first year of study will provide a general business foundation when you will study a range of core subjects such as Global Business Environment; Management and Organisational Behaviour; Business Information Technology Management; Business Statistics and Decision Making; Understanding Financial Information; The Political Economy of Work
During your second year you will begin to study more specialist management subjects such as: Human Resource Management; Operations and Business Systems Management; Marketing; Managing Finance; Organisational Studies; Developing Management Capabilities.

The breadth of skills and range of knowledge gained through this programme can equip graduates to compete successfully in a wide range of areas of the graduate labour market including marketing, finance, human resources, local government administration and business management. Students who complete a work placement generally have better employment projects than graduates who do not.
