Course Description
This MSc has been designed to provide CPD for higher education leaders and managers, especially those looking to move into senior management positions. It will also suit those interested in current policy developments and their impact on the management of higher education. The course covers all the main areas of higher education management and policy, and is taught by staff who have worked at senior management levels in higher education.
Programme structure
Eight compulsory modules are delivered as three- to four-day residential blocks, each with reading preparation and an assignment. This is followed by a research project with a dissertation. There are opportunities for workplace-based projects.
The programme provides an overview of a broad range of management activities, offering both a broadening of knowledge in areas where the participant has little or no experience and a deepening of knowledge in areas where the participant has specialist experience. The programme covers all the main areas of higher education management and policy.

Entry requirements
- First or upper second-class honours degree from a UK university, or equivalent overseas/professional qualification
- The degree requirement may be waived if you are a post-experience candidate and can demonstrate sufficient, relevant work experience (normally at least 5 years’ management experience in higher education at middle or senior level)
