MA Sustainable Tourism Management offers a fresh new postgraduate programme of study in tourism that is built around the core concerns of ethical management, sustainability and corporate social responsibility in tourism. It is informed by intellectually rigorous scholarship as well as the latest thinking in industry, development and policy, to provide you with the theoretical and practical foundations to pursue a career in sustainable tourism management in a wide range of organisational and international settings.
The MA comprises five core modules:
The programme provides an integrated global perspective on sustainable tourism management and will appeal to those already working in different areas of the tourism industry who wish to consolidate their professional experience, as well as recent graduates with an interest in working in sustainable and socially responsible tourism. It will also provide a solid foundation for those thinking of a pursuing a career in all areas of the wider tourism, heritage and cultural industries.
Applications will be accepted from graduates with little or no management-level work experience and a good undergraduate degree. Typically applicants will have a first degree in social science or business and management although virtually any discipline will be considered. Applicants should have at least GCSE Maths Grade C (or equivalent) and a 2:2 honours degree or its equivalent.
In the case of applicants whose first language is not English, then IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) is required. International qualifications will be checked for appropriate matriculation to UK Higher Education postgraduate programmes.
