About the programme

This programme enables you to combine the study of marketing as a field of expertise in the context of general business concepts and management techniques. You explore the relationships between organisations, consumers and products and consider the trends and changes that are evident in local and global markets.

Programme structure

This is a flexible and multi-disciplinary programme. You undertake a series of compulsory modules and then choose from a range of options in areas of interest. Marketing can be studied as a Single Honours, Major, Joint or Minor award and assessment is through a combination of examinations and coursework, with an individual marketing project as part of your Level 3 studies.

Career opportunities

In addition to working in marketing departments for small and large organisations, career paths include banking and finance sectors, product development, retail, tourism/leisure industries, local government and civil service.

Admission requirments

  • 200 UCAS tariff points or equivalent
  • Pass in a recognised Access Course or International Foundation Programme
  • In addition to the above, they require GCSE Maths grade C and English grade C or equivalents, unless competency is part of the qualification gained.
  • They also welcome mature student applicants and those with relevant professional and vocational qualifications, and these will be dealt with on an individual basis and may require an interview.
  • In the case of applicants whose first language is not English, then IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent) is required.
