Mathematics and Science Education: University of Amsterdam

Educational requirements: BSc degree in biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, or physics.

Professional experience required: A teaching degree and/or professional experience in education is an asset.

Language requirements: TOEFL (minimum score: 570 (papertest); 230 (computertest); 89 (internet)); IELTS (minimum score: 6.5), A Cambridge Examination Score with a minimum score of CAE A or B+, CPE B is also accepted.

Objectives: Students become experts in innovation processes of mathematics and science curricula at all levels of education and are trained in the integration of ICT and in development of communication skills.

Subjects: Multimedia and education; teaching, learning and communication; education policy and curriculum. Students practise ICT applications in education, design materials, and develop research projects.

Modes of instruction: Seminars and workshops are conducted in a collegial format of advising, reflecting, and learning by all participants, including staff. Activities centre on participants' own cultures and experiences.
