Course Description

Mathematics graduates, who are numerate and who have a high level of competence in problem solving skills are in considerable demand in a wide variety of areas of employment. This degree programme will provide you with both mathematical knowledge and these skills, while at the same time allowing you to pursue your own interests within mathematics.

You will have a good deal of choice as to which parts of mathematics to study. You may prefer to specialise later on in the programme, for example in Applied Mathematics, or you may prefer a more varied menu. You can choose from an extensive list of options. Although you will be studying mainly mathematics, you will have the chance of broadening your interests, for example by studying a language in your final. Transfer to this programme at the end of the first year is possible from a number of other programmes in the school.
