Course Description

This programme provides opportunities for developing in-depth understanding and insights into learning and teaching mathematics. This includes examining current curriculum issues, exploring international comparative studies, developing expertise in a variety of research methods, and engaging in cutting-edge research with tutors working in a variety of mathematical areas.

Programme structure

Core modules: Educational research methods; Research issues in mathematics education

Optional modules include: Issues in educational leadership; Mentoring and mathematics teaching

Additional modules include: Curriculum issues in mathematics education; Evidence-based research and institutional development; Principles of teaching and learning.

Entry requirements

A good honours degree from a recognised university (professional experience in the proposed area of study may be considered)
