The objective of the MSc programme in Mathematics centres on the study and development of techniques to tackle pure and applied mathematical questions. The aim of the programme is to provide students with such a knowledge, abilities and insight in mathematics and related fields, that they are able to work as a mathematical professional (including teacher at a Dutch High School), or are qualified for a training as scientific researcher.
The Master's programme in Mathematics reflects the versatility of mathematics. It offers students the opportunity to specialise in a particular area of interest to them and to expand their knowledge of the subject in general.
Mathematicians work in industry, banking, technology, consultancy, service organisations and many other segments of the labour market. Your training in analysis and problem-solving skills will give you an advantage in a many work situations, even those where your specialist knowledge may not seem immediately relevant.
