Course Description

Many of the most exciting challenges for mechanical engineers lie at the interface between mechanical engineering and electronics. This four year programme provides you with a deeper insight into sensors and instrumentation, control and signal processing, and automation and robotics.

The first two years of this degree are common with the MEng Mechanical Engineering, followed by specialisation in years three and four through a range of subject themes.

Core modules include Engineering design, Management, Automation and robotics, Instrumentation, Classical control design, Advanced digital control, Advanced signal sensing and processing, Advanced electrical systems, Advanced management and Computer aided analysis.

In the third and fourth years you will participate in projects, as described in the MEng Mechanical Engineering.

Entry requirements

• A levels: AAA, including mathematics and physics (general studies not accepted), plus GCSE English language grade C (minimum)
• IB: 34 points, including a total of 12 in mathematics and physics at higher level
• Intake: 60
