Course Description

This theme exploits Southampton's excellence in research across a wide range of Automotive disciplines to offer specialist modules designed to prepare you for a career in the automotive sector.

The first two years of this degree are common with the MEng Mechanical Engineering, followed by specialisation in years three and four through a range of subject themes. You will study a number of courses covering fundamentals of vehicle design, vehicle dynamics, propulsion, structural design, automotive electronics and control.

In the third and fourth years you will participate in projects, as described in the MEng Mechanical Engineering.

Entry requirements

• A levels: AAA, including mathematics and physics (general studies not accepted), plus GCSE English language grade C (minimum)
• IB: 34 points, including a total of 12 in mathematics and physics at higher level
• Intake: 60
