This MSc aims to provide you with in-depth skills in computational fluid dynamics, advanced manufacture techniques, engine testing, vehicle design and modelling, and heat transfer. Included in the taught courses is a significant quantity of project work to allow the development of your practical skills. The taught element is followed by an individual project where you devote your time to investigating a particular aspect of mechanical engineering. The combination of taught subjects and project work provides an excellent platform to further your career in engineering.
UK entrance requirements
A first- or second-class undergraduate honours degree in engineering, mathematics or an applied science.
Overseas entrance requirements
Sussex receives applications from all over the world and is therefore very experienced in assessing the qualifications offered by students from outside the UK.

English language requirements
