This well regarded MSc in Mechanical Engineering Design provides students with the latest technological knowledge in the mechanical engineering design field. The programme has a practical orientation and aims to produce engineers with theoretical and practical knowledge that will allow them to analyse and investigate problems at an advanced level. The subjects available within the course provide a blend of analytical subjects and creative design courses to develop design ability that is applicable to a wide range of challenging applications with an emphasis on creativity and problem solving.

Those graduating from the programmes are equipped to take up a wide range of opportunities in theoretical and applied research or professional posts in project appraisal, implementation and management or geotechnical/structural design and analysis.
Academic entry qualification overview: The standard academic entry requirements for this Masters programme will be a Lower Second UK honours degree, or international equivalent, in a relevant science or engineering discipline.
English language: All applicants will need to demonstrate competency in the English language. Applicants who do not already posses a recognised English Language qualification will need to take a recognised test such as IELTS or TOEFL and attain a minimum of IELTS 6.5 ( with no sub test less than 5.5), TOEFL 570 with 5.0 in the TWE (Computer-based 230 or above or Internet-based 88-89 or above).
