Mechanical engineers are responsible for a huge range of designs, equipment and systems. Examples include aircraft, automobiles, high-speed trains, robots, water turbines, fuel cells, diesel and petrol reciprocating engines, jet engines, suspension systems, power generation equipment, and a host of gadgets and mechanisms. Mechanical engineering requires the use of design, and generative and evaluative skills, as well as analysis. This MSc aims to expand your skills set across a wide range of related disciplines.
UK entrance requirements
A first- or second-class undergraduate honours degree in engineering, mathematics or an applied science.
Overseas entrance requirements
Sussex receives applications from all over the world and is therefore very experienced in assessing the qualifications offered by students from outside the UK.

English language requirements
