The University's general requirements for entry to a postgraduate programme apply to this programme and are described in the University Academic Regulations. In addition, an Honours degree in Music or Audio Technology/Systems, Electronics, Computing, or a similar subject will normally be required. Applicants with first degrees in other disciplines may be considered if they have relevant professional experience of sufficient depth.
International applicants (non UK and EU) should aim to apply by the end of June to allow time to arrange accommodation, finance and any visas.
English Language requirements
A recognised English Language qualification is required for entry to all programmes. If the medium of instruction of your undergraduate study was not English, you are required to pass such tests as the British Council's International English Language Test (IELTS). All applicants for graduate entry programmes, postgraduate certificates, postgraduate diplomas, Master's and doctorate programmes must achieve a minimum grade of 6.5. Those who have achieved a grade of 6 may attend a pre-sessional English language course to bring their language skills up to the required level.
International students who already have a qualification recognised as equivalent to the UK GCSE in English Language, Grade C or above, or higher, or who have previously studied at degree level in the medium of English, are not required to take the IELTS test.
