Introduction

The University of Westminster's Harrow Campus is the perfect home for the MA in Audio Production. As the major media education campus in Europe, Westminster's facilities include 12 professional recording studios (featured in The Mix- Jan 1997), Media Biz Dec 2000, a new teaching recording studio, and an array of television, post-production, radio, film and multimedia  facilities constructed and equipped to the highest standards. We ensure our students have plenty of studio time and access to professional equipment when they need it.

Course Overview

The MA in Audio Production is an innovative type of education programme for audio specialists. The course aims to develop each student's creative abilities in audio across music, sound design, radio, television, film, and multimedia all supported by a robust understanding of the technologies involved. Their ambition is to provide students with the opportunity to explore and expand as creative artists within the media sector, whilst securing their control and experience of professional audio equipment.

The MA is designed to enable graduates and practicing professionals develop their creativity and specialist skills in the wide field of audio production.

Designed to meet existing professional standards, and to educate students to the highest level in the creative use of audio exploring how creative ideas & new technologies can be combined, enhanced & re-defined.

This unique environment enables students to develop a professional working practice in all   the major media forms. With opportunities to explore the convergent nature of technology, in the production of a major piece of research, and a number of practical works.

A major link has been established with Yamaha Research and development in the UK with lecturing support being provided directly in equipment design. This element of the course provides the opportunity for equipment evaluation, as well as the opportunity to voice and provide user feedback to new products within their wide range of products.
